Many important things we care about and work hard to create and protect will be broken, some beyond repair. The destructive things we work so hard to prevent will happen, including things we can’t reverse. While there has been nothing like the second Trump administration so far, some elements of what we’re seeing reflect the era of Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper. And several scientists who suffered from Harper’s repressive policies told me that through teamwork and strategic planning, we will be can stop some of this.
